Privacy Policy for RackRush & RackRush Kids
Last Updated: February 24, 2026
Introduction
Use of RackRush and RackRush Kids (the “Apps”) is subject to this Privacy Policy. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring a safe experience for all users, especially children.
Data Collection
We collect only the minimum data needed to operate core features.
- The Apps function primarily offline.
- We do not require email/password account registration.
- We do not sell personal data.
- We do not use third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.
Legal Bases (GDPR/UK GDPR)
If you are in the UK/EU (or another region with similar laws), we process personal data under one or more of the following legal bases, depending on context:
- Consent: when you sign up for launch updates on the website.
- Contract / performance of a contract: to provide app features you choose to use (for example, online play).
- Legitimate interests: to secure our services, prevent abuse, and improve reliability (balanced against your rights).
- Legal obligations: if we must retain certain records to comply with applicable law.
Purposes of Collection
When data is processed, it is used for purposes like:
- App functionality: enabling matchmaking and online gameplay features you choose to use.
- Safety and reliability: troubleshooting crashes and improving stability.
- Support: responding to emails you send to support.
- Launch updates (website): sending you launch-related updates if you sign up on playrackrush.com.
Children’s Privacy (COPPA & "Made for Kids")
Your child’s safety is our top priority. We comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
- No Real-World Contact Info Required: We do not require a child’s real name, address, email, phone number, or precise location.
- No Behavioral Advertising: The Apps do not show behavioral or targeted ads. The Kids App contains zero ads.
- Parental Gate: All features that could potentially connect to the internet (such as multiplayer or dictionary definitions) are locked by default. They can only be enabled by a parent entering a PIN.
- Device ID: We use an anonymous, device-scoped identifier solely to support internal app operations (specifically, anonymous matchmaking if enabled by the parent). This identifier is not linked to any real-world profile.
- Gameplay Data (Online Play): If a parent enables online play, the app transmits gameplay data (words and scores) needed to run real-time matches.
- Player Nicknames: In RackRush Kids, player nicknames are randomly generated from safe presets (e.g. "Happy Fox", "Brave Owl"). Children cannot type custom names. For Game Center online play (if enabled by a parent), the child's Apple Game Center display name may be visible to opponents.
- Local Network Party Mode: If a parent enables Local Network access, the app can discover nearby devices on the same WiFi for local multiplayer. This uses Apple's Multipeer Connectivity framework and does not transmit data outside the local network.
Parental Consent / Parental Controls
RackRush Kids (and Kids Mode in RackRush) is designed to be safe by default. Online play starts off and can only be enabled by completing a parental-control step in the app (for example, entering a parent-set PIN). This gate is intended to help ensure a child cannot enable online play without a parent/guardian’s knowledge.
Note: We do not perform identity verification for parents. The parental-control step is enforced locally on the device.
RackRush (Main App)
- If you use online multiplayer and Game Center features, gameplay information (such as match results/scores) may be processed to support matchmaking and leaderboards.
- The app may collect basic crash/diagnostic information to improve stability and performance.
Third-Party Services
- Dictionary APIs (optional): If enabled, the app may fetch word meanings from public dictionary services. Requests include only the word being looked up plus standard network metadata (e.g. IP address) required to complete the request. We do not store this information.
- Apple Game Center: If you choose to use Game Center features (leaderboards/achievements), you are subject to Apple's privacy policy. We do not store your Game Center data on our servers.
- Cloudflare (website hosting): playrackrush.com is hosted on Cloudflare. Cloudflare may process basic request metadata (for example, to protect the site from abuse and to deliver content).
Where Data Is Stored
- Support emails: stored in our mailbox so we can respond.
- Website support form: if you submit a message via the support form, we store your email and message so we can reply.
- Launch updates signups (website): stored in a Cloudflare database (D1) under our Cloudflare account.
International Storage & Transfers
We operate services using providers that may process data in different countries. For example, playrackrush.com is hosted on Cloudflare, and Cloudflare may process request data globally for performance and security.
- Website database (Cloudflare D1): our D1 database is configured in a Western Europe region.
- Website delivery & security: Cloudflare’s network may process and cache content across regions.
Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers as provided by our service providers (for example, standard contractual clauses and equivalent mechanisms).
Cookies & Analytics
We do not run ads and we do not use third-party tracking cookies on playrackrush.com. Cloudflare (as our hosting and security provider) may set or read strictly necessary cookies or similar signals to protect the site from abuse (for example, bot detection).
Data Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We share data only when needed to operate the services you use (for example, Apple Game Center) or when a service provider is involved (for example, Cloudflare for website hosting).
Security
We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information, such as HTTPS for the website, access controls for our systems, and minimizing the amount of data we collect.
Retention
- Support emails: retained as long as needed to provide support, then deleted upon request where feasible.
- Website support form submissions: retained as long as needed to respond and improve support, then deleted upon request where feasible.
- Launch update signups: retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
Your Choices and Rights
You can contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of information associated with support emails or website signups. Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under applicable laws.
